Biography
I
grew up in Boksburg in
South Africa, but later also lived in Cape Town, Pretoria and
Bloemfontein. Writing became a hobby as soon as I learned to form
letters, but work included teaching preschoolers, hosting my own radio
show, and later working in the newsroom at another radio station. My
first novel blurted onto the computer screen in 2003, but it was
terrible. However, it marked the point at which the focus of my life
shifted to writing. I strove with everything in me to
write well, learning from mentors, books and articles how to improve my
craft. My efforts paid off with the publication of a number of short
stories, two novels, and an essay collection. In 2010, I started
writing race reports and athlete profiles for
Setanta Triathlon Club, most of which made it into local papers. My
focus as author has shifted from Fantasy to non-fiction.
